Photos are checked on your device first (food? inappropriate?); non-food photos are never sent anywhere. Food photos are shrunk, stripped of hidden metadata (like location) and sent to Google's AI (Gemini) only to recognise the dish. We do not store your photo. We keep only the dish name, type and rough calories, with an anonymous device ID and your approximate city from your IP address, to improve ratings and publish aggregate statistics. We do not sell personal data; anything shared is aggregated and anonymous. To delete your data, clear this site's data in your browser or message @itsminaelias on Instagram.
